Who Owns your home? A U.S. District Judge in Cleveland tossed out 14 foreclosure cases........read Eric J. Weiner's article "Court Throws a Wrench into Foreclosure Plans". Mortgage-backed securities is what is at issue and mortgage companies are being scrutinized for there practices of bundling mortgages and selling them. Investors do need a better understanding of what they are buying in these securities. Overhauling the mortgage industry and our financial laws are inevitable.

During the month of November 2007, southern Nevada reported 1,014 new
foreclosures, which was down slightly from the preceding month (October
2007) and off the peak reported in August 2007.  However, the number of
new foreclosures is substantially higher than one year ago when the
market reported 388 foreclosures.  The latest monthly foreclosure rate
equates to 34 home foreclosures per day in Clark County.

The number of active foreclosures (or residential units in the
foreclosure process) remained elevated at 4,034 by the end of November.
Active foreclosures remained over 3 times greater than the prior year.

As units work through the foreclosure process it is likely they will add
additional inventory to the residential resale market.  Seasonality
within the resale market may offset the entrance of new foreclosure
activity in the near term.

Las Vegas NV Home Auction Great article today in the Review Journal about the auction this weekend at Lake Las Vegas Nevada where 2,200 people showed up for this auction. All homes were under contract with up to 65% approved by the banks on site. Now that it hard to believe especially on a Sunday a bank representative would be there. There were also questions on whether there were shills planted to bolster the price. Now banks would never approve that......some people think if it says auction it must be a deal.........just remember that banks do not cut deals, all those homes sold for market value.....what a way to spend a Sunday......must be a better way to find a deal than a Las Vegas bank Home auction.......take a look and read the article

"1087 detached Las Vegas Nevada homes and condo/townhomes closed in November - a new low for the Las Vegas NV mls this decade. The winter season is historically the low point of our market rhythm. December and January typically chalk the lowest percentage of our annual closings. Good news? Las Vegas listing inventory continues to decline-this past 7 days by 568 listings! This marks 6 consecutive weeks of declining Las Vegas inventory and a total reduction of 1434 mls listings. 30 year fixed interest rates today fell to 5.625%. The lowest in a very long time. Bad news? One...."
